Report Cards and Progress Conversation Information

Afternoon Families,

Please see below for important information about report cards and how to access teachers for progress conversations on Thursday.

Report Cards

Report cards will be sent home electronically tomorrow via edupost.  If you do not receive an email, please check your spam or junk folder.

As we continue to support your child’s learning and growth, we want to take a moment to explain the purpose and meaning behind the report card indicators. These indicators are designed to provide a clear and consistent picture of how your child is progressing in relation to grade-level expectations.

Elementary P-6

What do the indicators mean?

Well Developed (WD): Your child consistently demonstrates a strong, thorough understanding of concepts and skills. This level goes beyond what is typically expected at this time of year.

Developing as Expected (DE): Your child is meeting the learning goals for their grade level at this point in the year. This is where most students are expected to be.

Needs Development (ND): Your child is still working toward meeting the learning goals and may need additional time, support, or targeted instruction.

It’s important to note that “Well Developed” is meant for students who show exceptional independence, insight, and consistency in their learning. Most students will be marked as “Developing as Expected,” which reflects appropriate and successful progress for their grade.

Why is this important?

Our goal is to ensure that report card marks truly reflect your child’s understanding and growth in relation to the curriculum. We continue to align more closely with provincial standards as teachers use more consistent and meaningful assessment practices.

Progress Conversations

On December 4th, we will be holding Progress Conversations to discuss each student’s progress to date. Meetings will take place from 1:00–3:00 p.m. and 5:00–7:00 p.m.

Grades P–6

Families will use an online sign-up system to book a time.  The portal for booking will open to families on Friday, November 28th at noon.

Please use the following information to schedule your appointment:

Appointment times are 10 minutes. If you require additional time, please arrange a separate meeting with your child’s teacher outside of this date.

Grades 7-9

Teachers will continue to meet with families in the gym, as per usual practice. No online booking is required. Appointment times are 10 minutes. If you require additional time, please arrange a separate meeting with your child’s teacher outside of this date.

We’ve attached a staff listing to help families navigate the location of classrooms.

Meeting With Multiple Teachers
Our junior high students work with several different teachers, and as a result, it is not always feasible for every family to meet with each one during Progress Conversations. We kindly ask that you prioritize the subject teachers you feel are most important to connect with at this time.

If you are unable to meet with a particular teacher, please remember that you can reach out to any of our staff by email to discuss your child’s progress or ask questions.

All other teachers who are not listed, (7-9, Mlle Salem, Mr. Pasher,) will be located in the gym.

Students whose classrooms are in portables, these teachers will be located upstairs for easier access.

Please note that Ms. Theriault and Ms. Thurston will not be available on Thursday and they will reach out to families to make alternate arrangements.
