Afternoon Families,
Our staff would like to share a few messages to help ensure that Halloween Day goes smoothly at school tomorrow.
Costumes
If your family celebrates Halloween, students are welcome to wear costumes to school on Friday. Please keep in mind:
- Costumes should be comfortable and suitable for classroom activities.
- No toy weapons or face coverings that block vision.
- Inflatable-style costumes are too cumbersome for the school day; we encourage other options.
- The school cannot be responsible for any damage to costumes.
- As we are a Primary to Grade 9 school, please avoid scary or gory costumes that could upset younger students.
If your child finds Halloween difficult or frightening, please let their teacher know.
Families who do not celebrate Halloween are invited to join in the fun by having students wear pyjamas or black and orange for a festive touch.
Candy on Monday
On Monday, we know many students will be excited to bring a few pieces of their Halloween candy to enjoy at school.
Please ensure that all candy is nut-free to help us keep everyone safe. Thank you for your cooperation and care.
Academics
While the day will include some Halloween-themed fun, regular class activities and academic work will also take place.
Tonight’s P-6 Halloween Dance
A few reminders for families joining us this evening:
- All students must be accompanied by an adult who stays for the duration of the dance (no drop-offs).
- Please, no face-covering masks or toy weapons.
- If you prepaid for entry, your name will be checked off at the front door.
- Pizza and drinks ordered in advance can be picked up in the cafeteria.
School Community Reminder
We’ve noticed an increase in graffiti inside and outside the school. We are working to address this, but students may notice inappropriate markings. We appreciate the many students who have reported graffiti to staff or admin—thank you for helping us keep our school safe and respectful.
Heppy’s Pies Fundraiser
A reminder that Heppy’s Pie orders are due Monday! These delicious pies make an easy dinner and can be kept in the freezer until you’re ready to bake. Funds from this sale will help to support student supplies and programming.
