Grade 9 End-of-Year Trip to Camp Brigadoon
May 19–21, 2026
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are pleased to share some exciting news about a special opportunity for our Grade 9 students. This spring, Park West School will be taking our learners on a three-day, two-night trip to Camp Brigadoon, located on beautiful Aylesford Lake in Nova Scotia. The trip is scheduled for May 19–21, 2026.
This year, the Camp Brigadoon trip will replace the traditional end-of-year boat cruise. We are excited to offer this enhanced experience, which provides more time for students to connect, celebrate, and enjoy a wide variety of outdoor activities in a safe and supportive environment.
Camp Brigadoon is known for its stunning natural setting and its emphasis on safe, inclusive, and engaging outdoor experiences. During the trip, students will take part in a variety of outdoor, collaborative activities designed to build teamwork, resilience, confidence, and connection with nature. Planned activities may include canoeing, archery, hiking, field games, and team-building challenges—all led by trained staff and supported by Park West School chaperones.

This end-of-year tradition is a wonderful way for our students to celebrate their time at Park West School, create lasting memories, and experience the beauty of Nova Scotia in a unique and meaningful way.
To help make this trip accessible for all students, we will be organizing several fundraising initiatives throughout the year. One of these initiatives is a bottle-drive fundraiser in partnership with John Ross & Sons Recycle Depot in Bayers Lake. Community members returning bottles and cans at this location will have the option to donate their refund directly to Park West School in support of the Grade 9 trip.
More details about costs, permission forms, packing lists, and additional fundraising opportunities will be shared in the coming weeks and we will host an in-person information session at the school on Monday, January 12 at 6:00pm. The snow date will be Tuesday, January 13 at 6:00pm.
