April Update

Afternoon Families,

Progress Conversations

We will be holding Progress Conversations tonight (5-7pm) and tomorrow (1-3pm) afternoon discuss student’s progress to date. 

Grades P–6: The portal for booking will open to families until 2:30 today.  

Please use the following information to schedule your appointment:

Appointment times are 10 minutes. If you require additional time, please arrange a separate meeting with your child’s teacher outside of this date.

  • Grades 7–9: Teachers will continue to meet with families in the gym, as per usual practice. No online booking is required. Appointment times are 10 minutes. If you require additional time, please arrange a separate meeting with your child’s teacher outside of this date.

Ms. Nicholl is not available tonight or tomorrow and has reached out to families to reschedule.

Teachers that are in portables will be located in the following classrooms:

Ms. Parsons - room 2039

Ms. Greenwood - room 2038

Ms. Thurston - room 2037

Raffle

The Park West Leadership Committee is excited to announce our upcoming raffle taking place during Progress Conversations tonight and tomorrow. 

We will have several themed baskets to choose from.  You can buy tickets and try your luck to win a basket(s).

Tickets will be available for purchase near the front office on:

  • Wednesday, April 1st from 5:00–7:00 PM
  • Thursday, April 2nd from 1:00–3:00 PM

Ticket prices are cash only:

  • $2 each or 3 for $5

All proceeds will directly support the Park West learning community. Funds raised will help provide:

  • Craft supplies for inclusive activities that support social and life skills in our Learning Centre, while helping remove barriers and promote creative learning opportunities
  • Engaging school-wide opportunities (P–9), such as candy grams and bake sales that bring students together
  • Community engagement initiatives, including visits with Parkland Senior residents and creating cards and celebrating events, strengthening connections beyond our school
  • Leadership and life skills enrichment opportunities for students in Grades 7–9, fostering confidence, teamwork, and helping hands within our school
  • Support for other school fundraising efforts, such as the Grade 9 year-end trip, helping remove financial barriers for end-of-year initiatives and clubs and supporting the broader school community

Winners will be contacted on Thursday, April 2nd to arrange prize pickup at the school.
