What’s happening at Park West School for September 23
Get Involved – SAC & PTA
Our School Advisory Council (SAC) and Parent Teacher Association (PTA) are great ways for families to get involved. The SAC helps guide school priorities, and having diverse voices at the table ensures we reflect the perspectives of our whole community. The PTA organizes events and fundraisers that support student learning and connection. Our first meetings are on Wednesday, September 24 in the school library — SAC from 6:00–7:00 PM and PTA from 7:00–8:00 PM. We’d love to see you there!
Fall Weather is Here
As the weather begins to turn, we ask that you please ensure your child comes to school dressed appropriately for the day. Students will be going outside daily unless we are experiencing extreme weather.
Arriving on Time
We would also like to thank you for the effort you put into getting your child(ren) to school on time each day. Arriving on time is very important—it helps set students up for a successful day and ensures they do not miss valuable instructional time.
Picking up Early
We know dismissal is a very busy time, but we kindly ask families to refrain from picking children up early. Even if it is close to dismissal, these interruptions disrupt the class and the flow of instruction.
Orange Shirt Day
Finally, this Friday is Orange Shirt Day. This is a day for us to honor the survivors of residential schools, remember those who did not return home, and recognize the lasting impact these schools have had on Indigenous communities. We encourage students to wear an orange shirt to show their support and to help us reflect on the importance of truth and reconciliation.
Thank you for your continued support.
