There is no school on Monday as we celebrate Thanksgiving Day.
We are so thankful for our wonderful students, families, and staff here at Park West. We hope you all enjoy a safe and relaxing long weekend with those you love. 💛
Feed Nova Scotia Food Drive
Our food drive was a huge success — together we collected 785 food items!
A heartfelt thank you to our students, families, and staff for your generosity in supporting this important cause. These donations will help many families in our community.
A special shout-out to our Leadership students who did a fantastic job collecting, organizing, and boxing the items, as well as keeping everyone informed. This initiative truly brought our school community together to make a positive impact.
Terry Fox School Run, Walk & Wheel – October 10
Thank you for your incredible support!
We raised $1,512.60 for the Terry Fox Foundation. All proceeds support life-saving cancer research. By participating, our students helped keep Terry Fox’s dream alive and contributed to a future without cancer.
Lice Season Reminder
This is the time of year when lice are common in schools. We encourage families to check their child’s head regularly and treat any cases promptly to help prevent the spread.
For more information on identifying and treating lice, please visit the Nova Scotia Health Authority website or speak with your healthcare provider.
School Picture Days
School pictures will be taken next week on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Please ensure your child arrives on time and ready for their photo day.
Provincial Assessment Results & Grade 6 Provincial Assessments
Families of students who were in Grade 3 and Grade 8 last year will receive an email with their child’s provincial assessment results in reading, writing, and mathematics.
These results are one piece of information that helps us better understand student learning and plan appropriate supports and programming.
In addition, Grade 6 students will continue writing the RWM6 provincial assessment next week. Being present and on time is especially important during this period. Thank you for supporting your child in arriving ready to learn each day.
Milk Fair Field Trips – October 16 & 17
Our grade 5 and 6 classes will be attending the Milk Fair next week.
If you’re interested in being a chaperone for this or any future field trip, please make sure you have completed and submitted all required background checks to the school office.
Wishing all of our Park West families a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend!
